British pianist and percussionist Peter Donohoe attended Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, and auditioned for the Royal Manchester College of Music at age 14, when he became a student of Derek Wyndham. At the University of Leeds, Donohoe studied with Alexander Goehr, though he returned to the Royal Manchester College of Music and received his bachelor's degrees in piano and percussion in 1976.
