Just days ago, Demi Lovato released a new single and video that seemingly confess she relapsed. The aptly titled "Sober" shows a very vulnerable side to the 25-year-old pop star. “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy, please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor," she sings. "To the ones who never left me / We’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober anymore.”

Lovato performed the sparse ballad during her set at Rock in Rio Lisbon on Sunday night (June 24). Behind the piano, the singer got emotional while singing the song's deeply personal lyrics. "I wanna be a role model, but I'm only human," she choked out, holding back tears.

"Tonight I took the stage, a new person with a new life," she wrote on Twitter after the show, sharing a clip of the emotional moment. "Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. It will never be forgotten."

Lovato is an empowering female voice, but like she says in her song, she's only human. She's been battling with addiction, self-harm and an eating disorder for years and recently released a documentary, Simply Complicated, which addresses her struggle to stay on the right path.
