Earlier this month, The Who announced a new album and their "Moving On" tour — a 29-city North American jaunt that sees the legendary band perform with local orchestras across the country. On Monday (January 28), the English rockers announced the tour's first UK date, and boy is it a good one. The concert is set to happen July 6th at London's Wembley Stadium, with support from Kaiser Chiefs and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. General tickets go on sale Friday (February 1) at 3pm ET. Fans can access a pre-sale by pre-ordering signed copies of the band’s upcoming LP.
Though symphonic by nature, singer Roger Daltrey has assured fans that they will still get a full Who experience. "Be aware, Who fans!" he said in a statement. "Just because it’s The Who with an orchestra, in no way will it compromise the way Pete and I deliver our music. This will be full throttle Who with horns and bells on."
This could also be fans' last chance to see the 74-year-old play live. "I’m just being realistic about going through the 75th year of my life," he said. "I have to be realistic that this is the age I am and voices start to go after a while. I don’t want to be not as good as I was two years ago."
