After an exciting 2018, George Ezra is ready for all that 2019 has in store for him. Last year, the UK singer/songwriter released his second full-length studio album, which follows his 2014 Wanted on Voyage debut (featuring his hit single "Budapest"). And this year, he's taking Staying at Tamara's on the road as he tours all over Europe through July.
Staying at Tamara 's showcases 11 new songs, including his chart-topping single "Shotgun." After the song hit No. 1, Ezra explained of the track on social media , "It's official & it's beautiful. Shotgun is number one in the official charts." He added, "Above all, what this means is that all of you guys are enjoying and sharing one of my songs and that in itself fills me with so much happiness."
"Shotgun" was written in Barcelona, but makes references to time spent in Australia with lyrics like "Time flies by in the yellow and green," yellow (gold) and green being the national colors of the country, and "South of the Equator, navigator" and "Deep sea divin' 'round the clock, bikini bottoms, lager tops." Ezra describes the song to iHeartRadio in three simple words: "Feel Good Vibes." He also considers hitting No. 1 on the charts with the song his favorite highlight over the last year.
Aside from a new album, hit single and new tour, the England native has also been busy with his "George Ezra & Friends" podcast in which in each episode, he spends time talking to some of the most talented musicians including Elton John , Sam Smith , Ed Sheeran and so many others. He tells iHeartRadio of the show, "I love talking to people about music and why they do what they do!"
