Justin Bieber Faces Backlash After Defending Chris Brown's Past 'Mistake'

Justin Bieber is making sure he celebrates those he loves while they're still here.

On Friday (May 3), the 25-year-old singer took to Instagram to praise Chris Brown for his talent, comparing him to legends Michael Jackson and 2Pac. However, Justin immediately sparked controversy with his message of support.

"Everyone wants to wait til people die To give them the credit they deserve. I’m calling it now when CB passes away after a long full life, you will miss what you had in front of you the whole time ... trust me watch you will see," Justin captioned a photo that read "MJ plus 2Pac equals CB [Chris Brown]."

"The people who have over looked this mans talent because of a mistake he made," he continued, referencing Chris' violent history, specifically his assaulting of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. "You need to reevaluate! Love you @chrisbrownofficial."

Following Justin's post, many slammed him online for supporting the 29-year-old singer and comparing him to late legends. "I'm honestly disappointed," one fan wrote. Another added: "This is manipulation; using your power as a celebrity to brainwash people. Fame is in the wrong hands when it comes to you Justin Bieber. Chris brown may have good music but abuse isn’t a MISTAKE and he sure as hell can’t compare to MJ or 2pac music-wise."

As fans know, in 2009, Chris pled guilty to physically abusing his then-girlfriend Rihanna. In 2017, his ex-girlfriend Karreuche Tran filed a restraining order against him. A year later, a woman sued Chris and three other people for allegedly raping her in his home multiple times. And in January, the 29-year-old singer was arrested and then released in Paris after a woman filed a rape complaint against him.
