'Fuller House' Dog Cosmo Dies After Surgery Complications: The Cast Reacts

The Fuller house has lost one of its furry friends. Cosmo, the beloved golden retriever of the Netflix series, passed away from surgery complications on Monday (December 16).

A spokesperson for Fuller House delivered the sad news on Twitter, writing, "We’re sad to share that the Fullers’ faithful dog Cosmo, who grew up on our set, passed away after complications from surgery. There will never be another quite like our boy. We’ll miss him forever.”

In light of Cosmo’s passing, co-stars Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner), and more castmates took to social media with heartfelt tributes in the pup's memory. “Our little Cosmo was always such a good boy and our hearts are 💔 Say hello to Comet for me, buddy…” Sweetin wrote on Instagram. “Our sweet boy Cosmo is now running around in doggie heaven. I imagine he’s playing with Comet right now,” Bure added with adorable photos of the departed dog. “Cosmo has been in Fuller House since the start and we are heartbroken that he passed away during surgery complications. You’ll be so missed love bug.”

Elias Harger, who plays D.J.'s son, Max, on the series, also shared a sweet video tribute on Instagram, writing, "Two weeks before the end of @fullerhouse, I lost my buddy. I made this video to honor @cosmofullerhouse."

Cosmo, who has appeared on the revival show since it premiered in February 2016, could often be seen waiting by the front door for Uncle Jesse, Uncle Joey, and D.J. As revealed in a memorial posted from his Instagram, Cosmo is survived by his two golden retriever brothers, Lunar and Rocket. His passing comes just ahead of what will be the fifth and final season of Fuller House, scheduled to debut sometime in 2020.
