The Swon Brothers Tribute 'Mommas' Everywhere In New Song

Country music duo, The Swon Brothers, dropped their new single, "Mommas" just in time for Mother's Day.

The song, written by the duo's own Zach and Colton, is a touching tribute to their own mother and "Mommas" everywhere. The two brothers initially sat down to write another song when their mom interrupted with a phone call. After hanging up the phone, one of the brothers commented, "thank God for mommas," ultimately inspiring them to write a new song.

In a recent interview, The Swon Brothers were asked about their favorite lyrics of the song. "There's a line in the second verse, which the whole verse kind of talks about how she went to school, she was going to be a teacher, she went to college, all this stuff; And then she had kids and her plans changed and she wanted to be a 100% mom," Zach explains. "She's told us since the day we were born, that no matter how old we get, we're always gonna be her babies, and ah wow, it's gonna make me cry and so that's a line in the song and that's prob my favorite line."

The Swon Brothers' first stepped into the spotlight when they were finalists on NBC's The Voice. The following year, they released their major-label debut, The Swon Brothers, co-produced with award-winning producer, Mark Bright. The album's first single, "Later On" was the duo's first Top 15 hit.

Since then, they've received CMA and ACM Award nominations for "Vocal Duo of the Year." They've also previously joined country superstars, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood on the road as a supporting act for their tours.

Their latest release honoring "Mommas" officially dropped on May 1. This week, the duo shared the lyric video for the track which features photos of mothers sent in from fans all over the country. Check out the sweet video below!
