The Lumineers' 'III' World Tour Was One Of The First Climate Positive Tours

Last month, The Lumineers revealed that they raised over $250,000 towards climate positive touring while out on the first first leg of their III World Tour. But that's not all they did. The trek itself actually ended up being one of the first climate positive tours in the world.

"We’re excited to announce that thanks to fan participation, our partners at @reverb_org and our managers at @activistartists, the first leg of #IIITheWorldTour was one of the world’s first-ever Climate Positive tours 💚♻️" The Lumineers wrote on Instagram, alongside a live clip of "Salt And The Sea."

"We offset over 150% of CO2 emissions, including fan travel, through funding projects that eliminated 4,300 tons of carbon – the equivalent of taking 1,000 cars off the road for a year 🚗," they continued. "We know it’s no concert, but here is a live performance of Salt And The Sea, as a way to say thank you. Hope we can all be together again real soon 💓"

Unfortunately, The Lumineers had to cut their tour short in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic; however, they've spent the past five months helping raise money for their local community, and beyond.
