Movie filming turned Chicago into "Gotham City."
Locals might recognize a few familiar landmarks when The Batman premieres in March 2022, which is pushed back from its original release date in 2021.
Filming took place over the weekend, following a break from production after actor Robert Pattinson tested positive for COVID-19.
Pattinson was confirmed as the new Bruce Wayne/Batman last year, becoming the next actor in a series of big names that have played the role, including Christian Bale, Michael Keaton and others.
Streets were blocked off near the Thompson Center and other areas as filmmakers created the “Gotham City” set in Chicago.
The Batman cast also stars Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin), Zoë Kravitz (Selina Kyle/Catwoman) and Paul Dano (Edward Nashton/The Riddler), among others.
The upcoming Matt Reeves trilogy is slated to focus on Wayne’s early, formative years as Batman.
″There's a slightly different feeling when you know loads and loads of people are going to watch something you're working on," Pattinson said in a previous interview, according to NME. ″I weirdly enjoyed it during Twilight, the idea that you can mess it up. I guess I felt confident. I wanted to be on the big stage."
