15 Celebrities You Might Not Have Known Are From St. Louis

People are always looking for something to binge watch and while there are plenty of new series to keep up with, one that never seems to disappoint fans is The Office.

The hit NBC documentary-style sitcom debuted in 2005, running for nine seasons. The comedy series boasts a star-studded cast, including fan favorites like Steve Carrell as General Manager "Michael Scott," Rainn Wilson as paper salesman (and Assistant to the Regional Manager) "Dwight Schrute," and John Kraskinski as salesman and prankster "Jim Halpert," among many others.

For St. Louisans, the show might take on a more personal meaning.

It stars several St. Louis natives, including Jenna Fischer ("Pam Beasly/Halpert"), Phyllis Smith ("Phyllis Lapin/Vance") and Ellie Kemper ("Erin Hannon"). In fact, the St. Louisans of The Office once held a gooey butter cake bake-off.

Kemper is also slated to lead Metro Theater Company’s virtual production of “A Christmas Carol,” featuring other local celebrities.

In fact, St. Louis is home to a long list of famous actors, athletes, musicians and more.

The St. Louis Convention & Visitors Commission doesn’t let them go unrecognized.
