Lana Del Rey Defends Wearing A Mesh Face Mask To Her Book Signing

Lana Del Rey is finally breaking her silence after previously wearing a mesh face mask to her LA book signing.

Last month, Lana Del Rey was photographed wearing what appeared to be a sheer mesh face mask while signing copies of Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass for fans. This immediately sparked criticism from people online who questioned whether it did any good protecting herself and others from transmitting COVID-19.

On Tuesday (November 17), Del Rey took to Twitter to explain her reasoning behind the mask, revealing there was another layer besides the decorative mesh part. Her explanation comes after she replied to an article about the mask.

“The mask had plastic on the inside. They’re commonly sewn in by stylists these days,” she wrote. “I don’t generally respond to articles because I don’t care. But there ya go. Same goes for everyone’s masks in my video. I’m lucky enough to have a team of people who can do that.”

Since it's been over a month, although happy to see her break her silence, some fans didn't like how long it took. “No hate but took you long enough,” one fan replied to her post.

Del Rey wasted no time replying to the fan and revealed a couple things that should make everyone happy. Bro I’m working on two albums and excitedly and happily donating a million dollars throughout the nation,” she responded.

Her upcoming seventh studio album, Chemtrails Over The Country Club, was slated for a September 5 release but Del Rey moved it to early 2021 because of the pandemic.
