Walmart Will Light Up Phoenix Raceway With Holiday Drone Show

Walmart created a drone light show as a contact-less way to celebrate the holidays this year.

The big box store will use 1,000 drones to create 3-D holiday characters, like snowflakes, reindeer, snowmen, and presents. The light show will be choreographed to Christmas music.

“After a particularly tough year, we want to help families end the year looking up. We want customers and communities to enjoy a moment of rest, peace and hope,” William White, chief marketing officer at Walmart, said in a statement.

Shows will be held in eight different cities, including Phoenix, throughout December. The Phoenix show is scheduled for Sunday, December 13, at Phoenix Raceway.

The shows are socially distanced and families will be able to watch it from their vehicles or a designated viewing area. No more than five people can be in one vehicle and a mask must be worn when outside your car.

The event is free, but tickets must be reserved in advanced at www.walmartdroneshow.com. Tickets are already gone in some cities, but the website says that registration may open up again.

If you can't go in person, a show will also be livestreamed on Walmart's Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts on Saturday, December 5, at 6:40 p.m. CT.
