These California Cities Are Considered The Best For Christmas

Christmas is less than two weeks away and people are preparing for a strange holiday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thanks to the internet, many families will be keeping the Christmas spirit alive with video calls and online church services.

Keeping Christmas celebrations safe and small also means many people won't have to worry about cooking this holiday. Many people will be opting for takeout from local restaurants.

To determine which cities will be the best to celebrate this COVID-19 Christmas, WalletHub did a study comparing 100 of the biggest U.S. cities.

According to the study, San Jose (No. 2), Oakland (No. 3), and San Fransico (No. 7) are all one of the top 10 cities to celebrate Christmas this year.

14 other California cities made it onto WalletHub's list:

  • Sacramento (No. 11)
  • San Diego (No. 15)
  • Fremont (No. 24)
  • Irvine (No. 26)
  • Santa Ana (No. 27)
  • Anaheim (No. 32)
  • Los Angeles (No. 34)
  • Chula Vista (No. 37)
  • Fresno (No. 43)
  • Long Beach (No. 62)
  • Bakersfield (No. 65)
  • Riverside (No. 69)
  • Stockton (No. 74)
  • San Bernardino (No. 84)

To determine the best cities for Christmas, WalletHub compared the most populated U.S. cities across four key factors such as safety (in terms of COVID-19 deaths and cases), traditions and food, observance, and generosity (amount of food banks, the share of income donated to charity, and online giving).
