The new year is here and, if you celebrated the end of a crazy year a little too hard, so is the headache. Lucky for you, National Hangover Day and National Bloody Mary Day joined forces to ring in 2021 on New Year's Day.
If you've never had one of these brunch classics, now is your time to try some of the wacky creations around the city. From traditional pairings to towering toppings, these Nashville restaurants are known to have some of the best Bloody Marys in the city.
Biscuit Love
As its name says, this Nashville eatery is known for its biscuits. But did you know its Bloody Marys are just as good? They're a spicier take on the traditional drink, using local Tennessee-made vodka and topped with pickled veggies.
Tavern
Known for being a popular spot for brunch, Tavern has two speciality Bloody Marys that are worth your time. The Wicked Mary is the zestier option, with peppers, olives, and spicy vodka, while the Cucumber Mary offers a refreshing take on the classic drink.
Doc Holliday's Saloon
While Doc Holliday's Saloon doesn't quite offer a full meal inside their Bloodys, the drinks do come with an array of snacks, such as cheese skewers, sausages, shrimp, onions, olives, carrots, and bacon. (Doc's is located near the site of the Second Avenue explosion, so check their website to see when they reopen.)
Sunda
This Gulch restaurant offers Bloody Marys with an Asian twist in their Sumo Mary. For a truly unique take on the brunch classic, the large, 32-ounce drink is topped with shrimp, crab, shishito peppers, pork belly bao, and a Spanish bacon grilled cheese sandwich.
Party Fowl
With multiple locations across the city, Party Fowl's Brunch for Two is likely the strangest Bloody Mary you have seen. Essentially a meal in itself, the 55-ounce concoction is topped with two whole fried Cornish game hens, two scotch eggs, fried okra, and an avocado.
417 Union
This unassuming restaurant offers a vintage vibe as well as its aptly-named Award Winning Bloody Mary. This simple and spicy (but not too much) take on a classic is beloved for a reason, but you can add some bacon for an extra smoky crunch.
