Miley Cyrus’ fictional Black Mirror persona, Ashley O, might be coming back our way.
On Tuesday (February 2), the pop star, 28, took to social media to tease a new take on Nine Inch Nails' smash, "Head Like a Hole," off their 1989 debut album, Pretty Hate Machine. "Bow down before the one you serve/ You're going to get what you deserve!” she growled in performance footage of the track. In the caption, Cyrus wrote, "GOD MONEY I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR YOU,” which happen to be the opening lines of the hit, which was written by Trent Reznor. In addition to emojis of money, an ogre and a clown, the star also included the hashtag #AshleyOGoneWild.
Cyrus perfomed a lighter version of "Head Like a Hole" during a 2019 episode of the Netflix series, where she performed the track, "On a Roll," as a fictional pop star named Ashley O. The track ended up finding success, debuting at the No. 19 spot on Billboard's Pop Digital Song Sales chart for the June 29, 2019 week.
"Feels like I've been here before...?" Reznor tweeted, admitting that he thought the song was "actually pretty good" in a hashtag. Prior to the tweet, he revealed that he approved of the pop makeover of the track for the hit show.
