Yella Beezy blamed a misunderstanding over an everyday item for his recent arrest in Dallas, Texas.

The rapper (born Markies Deandre Conway) was arrested on Wednesday, August 11, after Dallas police pulled over the SUV he was in. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a weapon after cops found unspecified drugs and five guns in the vehicle, according to TMZ.

Yella Beezy defended himself in a recent Instagram video where he said the drugs that were found were bottles of hand sanitizer.

"I’m the first rapper that went to jail over hand sanitizer," he said.

In the video, he shows off a bottle that says "promethazine with hand sanitizer" on the label. Officers mistook it for a bottle of cough syrup with codeine and promethazine hydrochloride, which is used in lean, purple drank, etc.

"Let me tell you how desperate they are to make an arrest. The homie got a brand of hand sanitizer that look like drank. It say hand sanitizer on it. You know how girls got eye lashes in the pill jar? She got hand sanitizer in a drank bottle," he said.

Yella Beezy removed the video from his account on Monday afternoon, but copies could still be found on social media.

This is the second time the rapper has been arrested in six months. He was arrested on weapons charges in February, but he claims he was set up.
