Thomas Rhett pledged to come back to Ohio after cutting his set short “due to dadgum lightning.”
The severe weather cancelation happened at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls. Rhett took to Instagram on Sunday (August 29) with a message to fans: “Everybody in Ohio, I hate so bad that my set got cut short tonight due to dadgum lightning, but obviously your safety is always the most important thing.”
The “Redneck Be Like” singer went on to explain that he worked with his team to reschedule the show. Now, “we can play my entire set for y’all Sunday September the 19th...We’re gonna do out best to make it as special as humanly possible, make it different, maybe even bring some guests,” Rhett promised, noting that tickets would be honored. “…Once again, that is the worst. We got to play so much of our set for y’all tonight, but I wanna come back and do the whole thing.”
Fellow country artist and tour mate Cole Swindell replied to Rhett’s post, assuring Rhett that the severe weather was out of his control — and that the new date would be better:
“Buddy nothing you could do.. promise you anyone that was there knows that weather was crazy.. Sept 19 gonna be 🔥🔥🔥🔥”
