When it comes to fashion's biggest night, most of the exciting details are kept under wraps. Viewers get a chance to indulge, and critique, all the looks from the Met Gala red carpet every year -- but it's rare for the exhibit to disclose what actually goes on inside the infamous Metropolitan Art Museum.

But sometimes slip ups happen, and that was the case on Monday night when Taraji P. Henson accidently revealed that Lizzo is slated to be performing of the evening at the 2021 Met Ball. As she hit the red carpet on fashion's biggest night, the "Empire" actress and birthday girl chatted with Essence Magazine and mistakenly spilled the tea about the "Rumors" singer hitting the stage inside the Met.

When she realized that she disclosed secret information, Taraji apologized profusely, asking reporters:

"I told something I wasn't suppose to say. Did you know? I didn't get the memo."

Although she had a minor slipup, the 51-year old actress looked gorgeous while doing so. She stayed true to this year's Met theme, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, donning a sparkly Black and silver Moschino number by Jeremy Scott, complete with smoky eye makeup, big hair and a revealing backside.

The veteran actress shined all week, serving several different looks during New York Fashion Week. Taraji gave a shout out via Instagram to the Empire State before attending any shows during the prestigious week, writing:

"Last night moving through these NY skreets!!!! How I have missed the big apple!!!"
