In the early '90s, Colombian brothers Jorge and Sady Ramírez teamed up with singers Carolina Ovalle, Jhanio Coronado, and Willy Garcés to form a tropical threesome to pay tribute to Sonora Matancera, one of the most successful orchestras in the Latin music field. Alquimia debuted with the release of Leyenda, followed by the self-produced Leyenda II.
