Guitarist/vocalist Michel Rivard and author/composer Pierre Huet formed Quenouille bleue in 1970 at the University of Quebec in Montreal for art-show performances. The duo added keyboard player Robert Leger and later vocalist/pianist Marie-Michele Desrosiers, changing their name to Beau Dommage in 1973. Signed by Capitol, the band (which also included drummer Real Desrosiers and bassist Pierre Bertrand) released a self-titled album two years later.
