After a decade fronting rock outfit the Cab, Las Vegas singer Alexander DeLeon switched courses as the solo act Bohnes. Taking inspiration from a trip to the Paris catacombs, DeLeon started the project as a genre-hopping outlet where he could delve into pop, taking cues from childhood influences like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, *NSYNC, and Queen. He released his debut single, "Guns and Roses," in 2015, quickly followed by "Middle Finger," which recalled the mainstream rock of Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots.
