Puerto Rican salsa singer Christian Alicea was born in 1996 to a family of musicians spearheaded by his percussionist father José R. Bosque, leader of veteran tropical outfit Maiken. Growing up surrounded by music, Alicea began to tour and sing with his father's band in his early teens. Later on, he worked as a fireman for five years but eventually music won the day and he moved to Medellín to try to launch a solo career as a reggaeton singer.
