Melbourne, Australia group Cut Copy rose to prominence on the wave of bands who mixed dance-friendly grooves with vintage new wave and synth pop sounds to create a hybrid that sounded good in a club and at home. Their contribution to the party was Dan Whitford's knack for melody and the group's atmospheric feel as captured first on the 2008 album In Ghost Colors and its indelible single "Hearts on Fire."
