Daughters of Eve

Chicago garage band the Daughters of Eve was formed in late 1965 by manager Carl Bonafede -- already the mastermind behind local favorites the Buckinghams (best known for the classic "Kind of a Drag"), Bonafede now looked to assemble an all-girl group, first recruiting singer/guitarists Judy Johnson and Marsha Tomal. Bassist Andee Levin and drummer Debi Pomeroy rounded out the original lineup, which recorded its debut single, "Hey Lover," for the USA label in 1966.
