The seeds of New York's dayinthelife? were planted in the now-defunct N.Y. hardcore band Mind Over Matter. The band released two independent albums (and toured both the U.S. and Europe), and it was in that group that singer George Reynolds and singer/guitarist Josh DeMarco first collaborated. When the group splintered, Reynolds and DeMarco set out to form a new band that embraced other kinds of music (including alternative, heavy metal, hardcore, psychedelia, etc.).
