Representing a second generation of bad spelling, Germany's Desaster took their name from Destruction's classic track "Total Desaster," and, like their inspiration, showcased a black metal-leaning style of post-thrash throughout their early career. Much of this took place in relative obscurity, though, since the band founded in the town of Koblenz in 1988 only managed to release their debut album, A Touch of Medieval Darkness, an incredible eight years later.
