Esteban Gabriel

Esteban Gabriel is a Houston, Texas-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist of contemporary regional Mexican music in the corridos tumbados (trap corridos) style. His approach adds a Houston-ian spin to the norteño sierreño-style created by Ramon Ayala. Using the standard sierreño formation of bajo quinto, bajo sexto, accordion, and either a bass or a tuba, Gabriel weds his pleasant, slightly nasal, reedy baritone voice and flashy guitar work to a slippery yet pulsing rhythmic style he calls "hip-hop with guitars and tuba."
