Singer/songwriter Gabe Dixon emerged in the early 2000's, fronting his piano-led rock outfit the Gabe Dixon Band. Influenced by jazz, funk, and classic rock icons like Elton John and Jackson Browne, he formed the group in the late-90's while attending the University of Miami. Following their self-released debut, Dixon and the group relocated to New York City where they landed a deal with Warner Bros. to release 2002's On a Rolling Ball.
