Texas-based group Glare tap into the heavy yet melodic side of shoegaze, evoking Deftones as well as Slowdive and Drop Nineteens. The band earned a significant online following with their heavily streamed early singles, and following their 2021 EP Heavenly, they issued their debut album, Sunset Funeral, in 2025. Christian Resendez, Toni Ordaz, Austin Barrientos, and Homero Solis all played in a Lower Rio Grande Valley-based emo group called Dispirit during the mid-2010s.
