The Canadian singer/songwriter Kai became best known for her collaborations with electronic artists. She grew up in Toronto, where she attended Bishop Strachan School, whose notable alumnae include actresses Linda Thorson and Laurie Holden. Kai released her debut record, 11:11, in 2011, but as the EP had very little promotion it failed to chart. Her career started to take off when she embarked on her first collaboration with Adventure Club, a dubstep act from Montreal.
