A hard rock group founded in 1983 by legendary kit man Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Blue Murder), King Kobra issued three LPs in the mid- to late '80s that ran the gamut from heavy metal to AOR. They disbanded in 1989 but reconvened in 2010 with a retooled lineup and issued two full-length albums, King Kobra and King Kobra II, on Frontiers Records. The group ceased operations again in 2013 but re-formed for a series of live dates in 2016, culminating in the release of the studio album, We Are Warriors, in 2023.
