Lanark Artefax

Glasgow's Calum MacRae records IDM and experimental club music under the name Lanark Artefax, a moniker inspired by science fiction writer Alasdair Gray's 1981 cult classic novel Lanark. While undeniably influenced by the likes of Autechre and µ-ziq, MacRae's brand of experimental electro seems a bit more neon-tinted, allowing rave influences to seep into his complex tracks, which often feature shredded vocal samples and fractured rhythmic patterns.
