Revenge

Edmonton, Alberta's Revenge are a war/chaos metal act led by drummer/vocalist James Read -- its only permanent member. Founded in 2000 after the dissolution of his Conqueror project, Read intended Revenge as a direct sonic extension -- albeit with a much darker apocalyptic vision. The Revenge sound is grounded in European black metal and is some of the most severe and violent music to emerge from the extreme metal underground, given its chaotic, lo-fi production, speedy, noisy, buzzing guitars, muddy blastbeat drums, and frighteningly unclean vocals.
