After making a name for himself as the singer of Mexican alt-rock act Elefante, singer and songwriter Reyli Barba left the band in 2003 to pursue a solo career. Barba quickly remade himself as a romantic balladeer and Latin pop artist, a decision vindicated by the widespread commercial success of his solo debut En la luna (2004).
