Roger Bobo

Roger Bobo was one of the modern era's best-known tubists and did a lot to raise the stature of the instrument. Born in Los Angeles in 1938, he graduated from the Eastman School of Music in 1961 and gave his first tuba recital soon after at the Carnegie Recital Hall in New York, meeting wide acclaim. Bobo then moved to the Netherlands to give solo recitals and play as member of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam.
