An influential black metal outfit led by core members Satyr (Sigurd Wongraven) and Frost (Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad), Oslo's Satyricon emerged in 1994 with Dark Medieval Times, which was rooted in the blazing blastbeats and icy atmospherics of traditional Norwegian black metal.
