The Harlem Gospel Travelers make songs directly influenced by the soulful (and slightly cosmic) sounds of 1960s gospel funk acts. Under the guidance of producer and music industry veteran Eli "Paperboy" Reed, the group grew out of a nonprofit program. Four talented vocalists participating in the Gospel for Teens program met with Reed, and they began writing songs together. Their nostalgic style was reflected in the retrofitted production of their 2019 debut album, He's on Time, and the group continued exploring it on subsequent releases like 2024's Rhapsody.
