Hailing from the Washington, D.C., area, the Thumbs began their punk of snotty antics that looked up to the 1977-era of The Ramones, The Dead Boys and The New York Dolls. Added with their own sense pop-punk, the original line up began in 1995 with Bobby Borte (guitar/ vocals), Mark Minnig (bass/ vocals), Mike Hall (guitar/ vocals), and Randy Davis (drums). Following their 1996 self-titled EP on Sneezeguard Records, a perpetual touring schedule and a revolving line of drummer would frequent The Thumbs for a number of years.
