Gospel singer, songwriter, producer, arranger, organist, and pianist Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark, although she may not be a household name, was nothing less than the Godmother of Contemporary Gospel, and the sharp, warm productions she did for her longtime sibling gospel group the Clark Sisters influenced the sonic feel and sound of modern R&B and soul as well.
