Biography

Yoshi Wada was a Fluxus-affiliated composer and installation artist who performed improvised drones on a variety of self-built instruments. Influenced by Indian ragas, Macedonian folk singing, and Scottish piobaireachd music, he created bagpipe-like instruments out of plumbing pipes and fittings and wrote extended compositions meant to be played as loud as possible in order to allow the overtones to be heard with extreme clarity.
