Listen to Bastille's New Song 'Good Grief' | World Premiere
June 16, 2016
It's been a little while since we've heard new music from Bastille. But after teasing their new 2016 album Wild World, the first single off the record, titled "Good Grief" is finally here! Yesterday (June 15), we shared an 11-second teaser clip on the iHeartRadio Twitter account featuring the songs cover art. But now we have the world premiere of the entire three-and-a-half minute song for you to listen to right here!
"Good Grief" is an unmistakeable Bastille song, and harnesses their signature sound. The track has uptempo rhythm, but includes melancholy lyrics like "Every minute and every hour, I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more/Every stumble and each misfire, I miss you, I miss you, I miss you more." The song also samples Kelly Le Brock from 1980's cult classic Weird Science.
About Bastille's new single "Good Grief"
"Good Grief" is the first single off of the British band's upcoming album set to be released later this year titled Wild World. The band has been hyping their new single and album on Facebook with different videos, as well as on Twitter. The new record is the follow-up to their 2013 album Bad Blood that featured the band's hit single "Pompeii." The popular song reached number 1 on the Alternative Songs Chart, number 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, and (according to the Official Charts Company) became the UK's most streamed song up until June 2014.
Bastille's new track was written by the band's lead singer Dan Smith and co-produced by Mark Crew, who the guys worked with on their debut record.
