INTERVIEW: Hailee Steinfeld Talks 'Starving' & Favorite Things

Since releasing her debut single "Love Myself," just last year Hailee Steinfeld's music career has been booming -- literally. Following the release of "Love Myself," Hailee has also released her debut EP Haiz, and this year dropped her collaboration with DNCE "Rock Bottom." Now, Hailee is sharing another amazing collaboration with fans, and let's just say it will leave you starving for more from the 19-year-old singer/actress. Hailee's new single, titled "Starving," features superstar EDM producer/DJ Zedd, as well as production duo Grey.

Zedd and Grey had previously teamed up with Aloe Blacc on "Candyman," but we have to say the combo of the trio plus Hailee on the dance-infused pop trrack "Starving" is equally as amazing. In fact, Hailee describes being in the studio with Zedd as "amazing," especially being a fan of his music. "I think being in the studio with him, being such a fan of him, was kind of just a surreal moment, and the way he works. He's so much fun."

You can catch Hailee perform her new single this September, when she takes the stage at this year's Daytime Village at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 24th. Hailee has performed at the Daytime Village last year with Shawn Mendes. The two performed "Stitches" together.

We recently caught out with Hailee when she stopped by iHeartRadio HQ in New York City where she not only told us about her new single "Starving," but she also opened up about all of her favorite things! Check it out below.

FAVORITE MEMORY OF BEING IN THE STUDIO WITH ZEDD:

"I kind of have two. I think one of them was when he introduced me to Grey, who I absolutely love. They are so incredible. They're extremely talented and I couldn't be happier that my [new] single is with them and with Zedd. I think being in the studio with him, being such a fan of him, was kind of just a surreal moment, and the way he works. He's so much fun, which is always kind of a thing when you're a fan of somebody and you're like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe I'm working with them. This could actually be a terrible experience,' but it was absolutely amazing."

FAVORITE MEMORY FROM PERFORMING AT THE VILLAGE AT THE iHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL IN 2015:

"I was there last year. It was actually my second performance ever, and I sang 'Stitches' with Shawn Mendes, which was so incredible, because it was really my first time experiencing singing a song, and having people really sing it back to me. It was my second performance. My first single had just come out, so being up there with Shawn, who is one of my favorite artists, that definitely created one of my favorite memories."

FAVORITE THING YOU'VE DONE IN VEGAS:

"I went and saw Britney Spears, her 'Piece of Me' show, which was literally like a dream. I mean, it was so crazy to be there and hear [and] see her. I had the most incredible seat in the house, and I was like, right there. She was so amazing. I was in a constant debate over whether I should be Snapchatting this or just watching it. But the whole show was really amazing."

FAVORITE ARTIST THAT YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ON THE LINE-UP THIS YEAR AT THE VILLAGE:

"So, I low-key ... I mean, this could be high-key ... I'm obsessed with Troye Sivan. I think he is so incredible. In fact, I never really sort of officially met him, but we played the same show, and we were walking up a staircase, and I looked down and he was coming up, and I was like, 'Oh my god, Troye!' As if I knew him, and I've never met him, and he was like, 'Hey.' I'm like, 'oh my god. This is so bad. This is totally awful. Can we redo this?' But, we've tweeted at each other a couple times, which is like, fan girl moment, so yes. I'm very excited to see Troye Sivan."

FAVORITE THING IN YOUR CLOSET TO WEAR:

"I'm a sucker for sweatpants. I have a lot of them. That would probably be one of my favorite things to wear."

FAVORITE GUILTY PLEASURE:

"There was a time where I wasn't, I didn't ever ... I'm going to say this again. There was a time that I never really felt guilty, but, um, it's kind of out of hand at the moment, so I'm a little guilty."

FAVORITE FOOD OF ALL TIME:

"I think it's safe to say I've ordered a cheeseburger in every city I've ever been in in my life, so I'm going to have to go with that as kind of the go-to."

FAVORITE CHEESEBURGER YOU'VE EATEN:

"I'm in New York, Shake Shack."

FAVORITE MOVIE:

"This is just the first one that comes to mind, The Big Lebowski."

FAVORITE FAN INTERACTION/GIFT YOU'VE RECEIVED FROM A FAN:

"I recently went to the Philippines, and I had so many crazy and incredible fan interactions. But one of them, I had just finished playing a show and I was walking with, four or five people to the elevator, to then go to the parking garage, to get my car, to go get some sleep. I had a really hard time getting in the elevator, and the elevator door would not close because there were so many people in front of it trying to keep it open. And there was one point where there were two guys on both sides of the elevator physically trying to close it themselves. That was pretty crazy, and I got it all on video. It was a little scary for a minute. The craziest thing about it was we would click the one floor, and then it would stop on every floor, and then it would go up, and we had no control over what it was doing, because we only clicked one button."
