On Wednesday (July 20) night's episode of "The Late Late Show With James Corden," a very special guest served as the latest "Carpool Karaoke" singer: First Lady Michelle Obama!
That's right, everyone. The beauty accompanied James on one of his infamous rides and was definitely a must-see.
Michelle and James first got their grooves on to a couple of different artists' hit music including "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours" by Stevie Wonder--who Michelle admitted was her favorite singer--and Beyonce's "Single Ladies."
The First Lady even joked as she turned up to Queen Bey by saying, "We were making honey to put on our lemonade!"
The First Lady then began singing a song that was very near and dear to her heart entitled "This Is For My Girls." Back in March 2016, Michelle released the song, which was written by Diane Warren and features the likes of Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Zendaya, Lea Michele, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, Jadagrace and Chloe x Halle.
The track was released in support of her and President Obama's Let Girls Learn initiative, which is "a U.S. government initiative aimed at helping adolescent girls attain a quality education that empowers them to reach their full potential," according to The White House's website. Today, more than 62 millions girls around the world are not attending school due to a number of cultural, physical, and financial obstacles. Let Girls Learn was created to help these young girls gain the education they deserve; which in turn will better their lives, their communities and entire countries; as more skilled girls have the power to advance their societies.
So, Michelle announced that she was planning a tour to Liberia, Morocco and Spain for her Let Girls Learn campaign. The First Lady also said urged children in the United States, "Don't take your education for granted" because there are millions of kids around the world who would love to have the same opportunities they have.
But, Michelle had a major surprise up her sleeve while singing "This Is For My Girls," too. Missy shocked us all when she popped up in the backseat and rapped her verse! So, of course with Misdemeanor in the mix, the trio had to turn up to "Get Ur Freak On" next.
