The Weeknd Cuts His Hair For 'Starboy' Album Cover: See The Artwork

The Weeknd raised eyebrows when he deleted everything off of his Instagram feed earlier this week, but we learned just why he did so on Wednesday (September 21) when the R&B virtuoso announced a brand-new album, Starboy.
Even though the title of the follow-up to Beauty Behind the Madness has been floating around his social media for some time, his newest message officially announces the release and offers up the album artwork for the LP. Shot by NABIL, the gorgeous cover sees the 26-year-old star looking pensive (and almost worried) covered in a blue tint. Oh, and in case you didn't notice, his signature dreads are also gone.
In his V MAN cover story, which surfaced earlier this month, Abel let readers in on some of the influences for the third studio LP. "The production feels aggressive but still sexy," he told the mag, before listing the inspirations for the set. "The Smiths, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Prince, and DeBarge play roles. We wrote it all in Los Angeles. I think it'll be the best-sounding album I've ever done."
Plus, don't forget about that reported collaboration with Daft Punk. Looks like Abel is coming hard in Q4. Peep the entire Starboy cover below!
