FFDP Singer Ivan Moody Has "Fallen Ill," Exits Tour

Five Finger Death Punch singer Ivan Moody has left the group's tour due to health issues. The band put out a press release saying that Ivan has "fallen ill" and for the remaining dates on the trek, he'll be replaced by his friend, All That Remains singer Phil Labonte.

The news follows a handful of strange headlines about Moody. Last week, FFDP cut their Worcester, Massachusetts gig short after just a few songs because, according to Ivan, his mother was "passing along" that day but he chose to perform instead of be with her. However, Moody's sister then released a statement saying their mom was alive and well.

The next night, he admitted to having a "mental meltdown," but audience members thought he still didn't seem able to perform at his best.

With Ivan out, rather than just scrap their remaining eight shows, the group, who are touring with Shinedown and Sixx: A.M., chose to honor their commitment to the fans and complete the trek with Phil.

FFDP guitarist Zoltan Bathory said in the press release:

"Ivan is our brother and we fully and wholeheartedly support him taking care of himself so he can get well as soon as possible. We discussed possibly canceling the remaining shows but the responses from the other bands on the tour were so overwhelmingly supportive that we decided to move forward and deliver the great night to the fans that they expect.”

Meanwhile, Sixx: A.M. singer James Michael stated:

“All of our hearts are with Ivan right now hoping for a speedy recovery. Phil is an excellent frontman and vocalist who stepped forward in solidarity to Ivan without a moment of hesitation. Fans are in for some special treats and surprises. I’m really excited about the show tonight.”
