Billie Lourd Supported By ‘Scream Queens’ Cast After Death Of Mom Carrie Fisher

Billie Lourd is receiving support from her Scream Queens co-stars in the wake of her mother Carrie Fisher’s death.

Fisher died on Tuesday at age 60, days after suffering a heart attack. Her passing was announced by Lourd’s publicist, who said in a statement, “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

Lourd, who had a cameo in last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has been a main cast member on Scream Queens since its debut last year. Season two, in which she reprised her role as Chanel #3, just finished airing last week. Now in the face of tragedy, the young actress is receiving an outpouring of love from her colleagues.

On Instagram, Jamie Lee Curtis posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Lourd on a film monitor. She wrote in the caption, “My mother’s heart goes out to this exquisitely talented young woman. Her mother’s spirit and talent lives on in her and I’m sure all of Carrie’s fans and friends will give her space and privacy.”

On Twitter, Lea Michele shared a photo of Lourd hugging her late mom. She tweeted with it, “My heart today.. [heartbroken emoji] I love you Billie.” 

Glen Powell posted the same picture on Instagram, writing, “The world lost a princess, a star, an icon. My good friend Billie lost a mother, cheerleader, and best friend. Carrie, thank you for your uniquely honest soul and sense of humor. This world could use you now more than ever. My prayers go out to the Fisher and Lourd Families.”

Co-star Niecy Nash reposted Powell’s comments, adding, “BILLIE WE LOVE YOU. #RipCarrieFisher #StillAPrincess.” Like Curtis, Abigail Breslin also shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot on Instagram, noting, “Right after I took this pic I realized how much Bill looked like Carrie. Both so beautiful. RIP Carrie, you were amazing… and thank you for making such an incredibly brave, kind and brilliant person who I’m lucky to call my best friend.”

Taylor Lautner posted a selfie he took with Lourd. He wrote in the Instagram caption, “This girl is one of the strongest, most fearless individuals I’ve ever met. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. I’m lucky to know you @praisethelourd.. [love], me.”

And, alongside a photo of himself with Lourd at Comic Con, John Stamos said on Instagram, “Oh how you loved telling stories about your mom — and I loved hearing them. I loved watching your face light up. You were so proud of her and she of you. She will live through you forever and we’re all lucky for that. Love you Billie.”

Ariana Grande, who made a few appearances as Chanel No. 2 on the first season of the show, also shared a message of love and support:

Others who have offered condolences to Lourd include Kirstie Alley (also a “Scream Queens” cast member), Harrison Ford, George Lucas, Whoopi Goldberg, Courtney Love, and Carole King. Lourd’s grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, also released a statement on Fisher’s death as well. All three generations attended the 2015 SAG Awards together, where Reynolds was honored with the Life Achievement Award.
