'Supergirl' Actress Melissa Benoist Files For Divorce From Blake Jenner

It’s over for Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner. The "Supergirl" actress has filed for divorce after less than two years of marriage.

As Gossip Cop reported, Benoist and Jenner secretly married last year. While the news of their union broke in July of 2015, the nuptials were actually held back in March. They had become engaged in 2013, one year after meeting on the set of "Glee."

They both joined the hit FOX show in 2012, with Jenner’s addition to the cast coming after his participation in the “The Glee Project,” a companion reality show in which actors and singers competed for a role on the program. While their characters went on one date, love blossomed off-screen. And they recently continued to mix business with pleasure.

Jenner appeared on two episodes of “Supergirl” this year. But, at some point, the relationship apparently fell apart. In her divorce filing, which was first reported by TMZ, Benoist blamed the breakup on irreconcilable differences.

She requested to drop “Jenner” from her surname, and also indicated he should not receive spousal support. Additionally, Benoist is not seeking financial support from him, either. The split news comes just a few months shy of what would have been their second wedding anniversary. Gossip Cop is reaching out for comment.
