Miguel Ferrer Dead: Celebrity Reactions, George Clooney Statement

Miguel Ferrer died on Thursday from cancer at the age of 61, and now a number of celebrities, including his cousin George Clooney, are reacting to the actor’s death. Ferrer, who starred on “NCIS: Los Angeles” and was on “Crossing Jordan,” “Twin Peaks,” as well as in a number of films, such as RoboCop, had battled cancer for a long time before passing away. Survived by his wife Lori and boys Lukas and Rafi, the actor was the son of Rosemary Clooney and Oscar winner Jose Ferrer. Now, stars are sharing their reactions to Ferrer’s death.

In a statement furnished to Gossip Cop on the eve of the inauguration and transfer of power, George Clooney said, “Today history will mark giant changes in our world, and lost to most will be that on the same day Miguel Ferrer lost his battle to throat cancer.

But not lost to his family.” He added, “Miguel made the world brighter and funnier and his passing is felt so deeply in our family that events of the day, (monumental events), pale in comparison. We love you Miguel. We always will.”

Josh Gad tweeted, “So sad. Huge talent.” Jill Hennessy, who co-starred with Ferrer on “Crossing Jordan,” recalled, “In between takes of intense gravity, he’d make all of us on set laugh till we cried..had respect 4 ALL..& THE STORIES- #MiguelFerrer #RIP.” “Saddened by the death of Miguel Ferrer – Terrific Actor – Prayers for Family & Friends – RIP,” expressed, Robert Davi. Josh Charles wrote, “So sad. Damn fine actor and dude,” to which Debra Messing added, “Oh no… so sad.”

And on Instagram, “NCIS: Los Angeles” star LL Cool J wrote, “Miguel you were an amazing man. We enjoyed a lot of laughs over the years. More jokes than I can count. You brought so many people so much joy. Guess that’s why So many people shed tears today.”

“I met your wife and kids a few times and you and I grew to become good friends. I’ll miss you man,” he continued. “You inspired me everyday. A true mans man. Love you my brother. I’m glad you smiled and stayed strong until the finish. Sleep well in the arms of the almighty.”
