spotlight logo FINALLady Gaga and Metallica teamed up for an on-stage collaboration of epic proportions during the 2017 Grammy Awards. The pop star joined the iconic band for a performance of their new single "Moth into Flame" from their tenth album Hardwired... to Self-Destruct, with some major technical difficulties.

The performance opened with pyro and a staged small mosh pit of backup dancers. Lady Gaga emerged clad in a cropped Metallica t-shirt and shorts, as she took her place with the thrash legends.

However, the performance was off to a rocky start when technical issues with James Hetfield's mic caused him to be muted. The rocker eventually joined Lady Gaga at her mic to sing his part and continued the performance. Out of frustration, he eventually kicked the mic stand over.

The rest of the performance was high-energy. The entire stage aimed to replicate the experience of the mayhem at a Metallica concert. Gaga threw herself into a sectioned part of the crowd who caught her during a stage dive.

One of the highlights of the night for various reasons, Lady Gaga's collaboration with Metallica was a great attempt despite the unfortunate technical difficulties. Gaga has the tremendous ability to transcend her talent through multiple genres.
