Get to know "Every Little Thing" about Carly Pearce, because she has all the makings of the next great new country artist. Born in Kentucky, the bluegrass state, the 26-year-old has been performing music for 15 years, fronting a bluegrass band at only 11 years old, and performing at Dollywood at 16. Then, after moving to Nashville eight years ago, she became a regular artist at the city's famous Bluebird Cafe, performed at the Grande Ole Opry, and has shared the stage with country stars like Hunter Hayes, Florida Georgia Line and Gary Alan, also becoming Lucy Hale's backup singer while on tour.
Now, Carly is poised to release her own music, having recently signed a publishing deal with BMG Nashville, also releasing her new single "Every Little Thing," and working on more new music with star producer Busbee (Maren Morris, Lady Antebellum).
We recently caught up with Carly at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, and during an exclusive interview, she told us more about herself, the meaning behind her single 'Every Little Thing,' and what it's like to work with Busbee. Check it out below.
For anyone that is just getting to know you as an artist, what are three facts fans should know about you?
"I grew up in Kentucky and I was a bluegrass singer for a long time, so that's a big influence of mine. I love Dobro and different things like that. And I love red wine -- I feel like you should know that about me. And some of my favorite musical influences are Trisha Yearwood, Patty Loveless, Sonya Isaacs and just true mountain female vocalists with real texture to their voice."
Tell us about your single "Every Little Thing." What does the song mean to you?
"My single is very true to my heart. I wrote it about a heartbreak of a guy that really did a number on me, and it takes you on a journey of the snapshots of my personal story of losing love, and kind of dealing with the ghosts because your heart is the one, ultimately, that decides when you're over somebody."
What should fans look out for from you this year?
"Well hopefully, at Radio Tour with "Every Little Thing," and I'm just really excited to get in the studio with Busbee, my producer, and record an album, and tour, and do all those things. So I'm just excited to meet a bunch of people."
He's an amazing producer, and he's worked with so many talented artists. What's it like working with him?
"He's killing it. We have such a good time. I signed with him as an artist almost two years ago, so I've got to watch him blow up in the country world. It's like a really special relationship that I have with him. We're really excited."
